Electrical Switch Gear
Electrical switch gear infrared inspections are a key part of any reliability program on critical equipment. Infrared inspection on MCC control centers will save unexpected down time and the expense of lost production. Most industrial applications utilize 480v Motor Control Centers (MCC) based applications. Offshore exploration vessels utilize 690V Motor Control Centers by incorporating infrared inspection with other reliability and compliance services a very powerful preventive maintenance program can be established to minimize electrical and mechanical down time.
Infrared monitoring of rotating equipment is an excellent complement to vibration analysis. Poor lubrication will generate excessive temperature prior to excessive vibration. Identifying the excessive temperature issues can prevent a defective condition from occurring due to poor lubrication. Vibration analysis typically only identifies the defect once it has developed due to poor lubrication.
Types of equipment that can be effectively monitored are:
- Electric Motors
- Pillow block bearing
- Drive shafts
- Belt driven units
